Custom Domain
Connect a custom domain to your LeadHQL website with DNS configuration and verification.
Admin only — Domain management is only available to organization administrators.
Overview
Your LeadHQL website comes with a free internal domain (e.g., yourorg.leadhql.com) that's always active. You can also connect your own custom domain so visitors reach your site at an address like www.youragency.com.
Prerequisites
You must create your website first. If no website exists yet, you'll see a prompt to go to My Website and set one up.
Adding a custom domain
- On the Domain page, find the Add Custom Domain card.
- Enter your bare domain name in the input field — for example,
example.comorapp.example.com. Do not includehttps://or any paths. - Click Add Domain.
LeadHQL validates your input and strips any protocols or trailing paths automatically. If the domain format is invalid, you'll see an error message.
Configuring DNS
After adding your domain, a DNS Configuration card appears with the records you need to add at your domain registrar. You'll see a table with:
| Column | Description | |--------|-------------| | Type | The DNS record type (e.g., CNAME, A) | | Name | The hostname to configure | | Value | The target value to point to |
Click the copy button next to each value to copy it to your clipboard.
Add these records in your domain registrar's DNS settings (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. After adding the records, come back and click Verify Domain to check.
Domain verification
Once your DNS records are in place, click Verify Domain. If verification succeeds, your domain status changes to Verified with a green shield icon. If DNS hasn't propagated yet, you'll see a message asking you to try again later.
Domain status
The Domain Status card at the top shows:
- Internal Domain — Your always-active
*.leadhql.comdomain with a link to visit it. - Custom Domain — Your connected domain with its current status:
- Pending (yellow) — Domain added but not yet verified.
- Verified (green with shield icon) — Domain is active and serving your site.
Removing a custom domain
If you need to disconnect your custom domain, scroll to the Remove Custom Domain section and click Remove Domain. A confirmation prompt appears. After removal, your site remains accessible via the internal domain.
